Jon Bon Jovi Donates $1 Million to Superstorm Sandy Relief
He’s always had a strong connection to his roots, and Jon Bon Jovi showed up in Sayreville, New Jersey to offer some hope to those affected by Superstorm Sandy- a one million dollar donation.
During his visit, the “Livin’ On a Prayer” rocker was joined by Governor Chris Christie and his wife Mary Pat Christie.
Bon Jovi explained, "My being here is not political. It's emotional because I grew up here, I went to school here. I met my wife here.”
“The unsung heroes are the volunteers who without notice helped house, feed, clothe and just comfort."
Jon also noted that he got his start playing block parties in the community, and couldn’t think of a better way to being to repay his hometown for all it has given him.
